Managed projects and engineered School District of Rhinelander’s Microsoft Conversion with 2,200 workstations completed during the summer of 2011. Managed a crew of eight technicians and two separate technology vendors during multiphase project. Project was completed on time and exceeded the client’s expectations. Managed and engineered Crandon School District’s Microsoft conversion project including Exchange deployment. Managed Citrix XenServer and XenDesktop environment installations for two school districts. Provided vision and direction in technology departments for several school districts.
Northland Pines School District, IT Manager / Director April 1999-2011
Responsible for installing, configuring, and deploying network servers, routers, switches, printers, copiers and workstations utilizing multiple VLANs and subnets. Supported over 300 staff members, 1,500 students, and 1100 computers. Negotiated and approved contracts to vendors. Directed IT department and provided vision for the school district. Created several technology plans for the school district. HIPAA security officer.
Major Accomplishments
- Led IT design team for new 253,000 sq. foot high school building in Eagle River WI. Used project management skills with complex schedules and timelines to complete project on time, on budget, and to specifications. Project was focused on one to one computer ration and bring your own device.
- Supervised punch down list for IT, video, and telecommunications for high school in Eagle River WI. Worked with vendors to test and certify wiring, wireless AP, wireless phone system, and networking. Installed 125 access points, 45 switches, and moved a server room.
- Managed wireless project for Forest County Potawatomi. Managed the installation of 62 access points throughout the administration complex. Administered the punch-down list with technicians and vendors at project completion.
- Managed several large projects with complicated phases and on-time delivery. Designed, managed and implemented virtual server migration project and Novell to Microsoft conversion for three school districts. Managed 23 people and six vendors on some of the larger projects, while maintaining budget, schedule, and specifications of project.
